We happened across the Kaimuki Superette while we were exploring. The bright blue door and vintage signage pulled us in and we’re happy it did!
The Kaimuki Superette serves up fresh breakfast and lunch every day except Sunday. It’s great for both locals and tourists and the prices are affordable. All of the breakfast items are below $10, but it will get pricy – because everything looks so good, you’ll end up ordering more than one item!
Local Sourced Food
The food is delicious and locally sourced, so you’re supporting the island farms when you purchase at the Superette. In addition to pre-made food, there’s a mini superette (as the name implies). You’ll find salad greens, pickles and a few other fun items.
The Hapa fried rice was amazing. I love that the flavors of the fried rice were brightened with kale and pickles. It felt like a hearty breakfast – and there was a little left over for a snack later.
Planning Your Trip
Find the Kaimuki Superette on Waialae Ave. from 7am to 4pm Monday through Saturday. We recommend stopping by for breakfast or lunch, then exploring the other stores in Kaimuki. If you’ve saved room for dessert, there are many amazing spots to indulge in.
We added the Superette to our Oahu Off The Beaten Tracks trip on Tripidee. You can start there for your Hawaii trip planning then copy it to your account to modify and add to create your custom trip.
